Nearly 20 years in, we’re still fueled by that original fire—to solve problems, spark adventure, and create better ways to connect with the natural world.

Born in the storm. Built for the journey.
Back in 2006, our founder Abe Shehadeh was just another snowboarder on Mount Bachelor—cold, soaked, and wondering why his face mask couldn’t keep up with his jacket. That moment, frozen in time (and temperature), sparked an idea: make gear that works better. That idea became BlackStrap.
What started with a few handmade ski masks sewn in a spare bedroom has grown into a full-scale layering system trusted by athletes, weekend warriors, and families across the world. From powder days to paddleboards, BlackStrap is built to help you stay out longer, play harder, and feel more connected to what truly matters. Thanks for being here.

Responsibly made. Built to last.
To us, technical innovation and mindful manufacturing go hand in hand. We believe you shouldn't have to choose between gear that works and gear that respects the planet. Simply put, you should feel good about what you wear, and where it takes you. To get there requires designing with intention, selecting materials that last, and reducing waste without cutting corners.

Community-driven. Always.
The outdoors wouldn’t be what it is without the people who bring it to life. That’s why we support the people, programs, and crews who shape the culture and keep the stoke alive—from park builders to grassroots organizations making the outdoors more inclusive for all.

Good humans. Great riders.
Our athletes bring the kind of energy that lifts everyone up. They test our gear in the harshest conditions, help shape the next generation, and always show up with heart. Talent matters, but character is what makes them part of the BlackStrap family.
