Bellingham, WA born and raised, Zoë Vernon is one of those riders who lives and breathes the sport. A Mt. Baker legend, Zoë is on-hill nearly every day of the season. Her career has spanned from Natural Selection Tour stops and filming video parts to commercial fishing in Alaska. Both an experienced backcountry rider and an aspiring guide, Vernon is calculated with her approach to the steep lines she takes on. Her joy for the sport, and willingness to share her stoke is truly a gift to snowboarding. Look out for Zoë in any banked slalom competition in the PNW, she’ll be the one on the podium.

What’s the reason you started snowboarding?

In my home county, Mt. Baker gives all the 5th graders a free season pass, so my dad got me geared up and started on the board. We weren’t a skiing family, but I did the ski bus program throughout middle school, and once I could drive I was fully hooked.

If you weren’t a pro snowboarder, what would you be doing?

Oh that's hard to say. Hopefully not a 9-5. Maybe I would have been able to dedicate more time to art and found a path in that.
