From the heart of Littleton, Colorado, Ana Eyssimont’s path to the mountains is anything but ordinary. Once a dedicated gymnast at UC Boulder, Ana first clipped into skis in 2018—and it was love at first turn. Drawn to the thrill and freedom of the sport, she quickly adopted a fearless “send-it” mindset and leapt into the competitive scene. But it wasn’t long before she found her true calling in the untamed backcountry. Here, amidst the raw, unfiltered beauty of the alpine, Ana has honed her craft, blending technical skill with an adventurous spirit.

What’s the reason you started skiing?

As a way to be outdoors hanging out with my friends in college. Everyone in my friend group skied park, and at CU Boulder we always found a way to get up to the mountains on days off. I was hooked when I realized it was a sport where I could scare myself, learn new things, and spend time in otherwise unreachable environments.

If you weren’t a pro skier, what would you be doing?

Trying to be a pro surfer.
