Sam Goodhue is the lifeblood of the BlackStrap team. Massachusetts born and Salt Lake City honed, Sam has made it his life goal to have as much fun as possible on two sticks. Off the skis, Goodhue is a skilled musician, biker, and marketing manager. Plowing his own path in the industry, Sam has made his professional skiing career all about following the stoke. Whether that is heli-skiing with the BS crew in Washington or building booters in the Wasatch backcountry, Sam can be found 50 feet in the air, upside down.

What’s the reason you started skiing?

I started skiing before I can remember. This is due to my grandfather's influence on my dad. He built a small octagonal ski house in the woods of Easton, New Hampshire, back in the early 1950s so he could take his family there on the weekends. The tradition stuck, and my dad would take my brothers and me up there to ski at Cannon Mountain almost every weekend during the winter. My grandparents were actually married on the top of Cannon Mountain.

If you weren’t a pro skier, what would you be doing?

If I weren't a pro skier, I would be a charter fisherman living in some tropical place.
