Halfpipe child prodigy-turned backcountry superstar, G-Ferg is one of the chillest pros out there. Competing in X-games Superpipe at the ripe age of 16 set Gabe up for a golden career of doing tricks on a snowboard. His natural talent and style are unmatched. While he went viral for doing his first 720 at age 7, the Bend local is now most probably known for his massive poked-out method. Opting out of the competition scene early, Ferg chose to dominate the backcountry. In 2023, he filmed an extremely heavy part in the highly acclaimed “Knights of the Brown Table”, by Brown Cinema. Gabe is the most laid-back rider you’ll find yet also the most exciting to watch. G-Ferg to the world.

What’s the reason you started snowboarding?

I owe it all to my cool a$$ parents. We were just a family of boarders. Going to the mountain with my two older brothers was just our normal way of living.

If you weren’t a pro snowboarder, what would you be doing?

Probably traveling and trying to see the world. I get bored very easy being in the same spot for to long.

Top tip for staying healthy?

For me it's just continuing to move. I try to do at least one activity a day to get my heart rate going. (skating, biking, walking).

What’s the last book you read?

Last real book I read was probably in 7th grade. But I do like to read articles in the snowboard magazines. (Torment Mag, Slush Mag.)

What are 3 things you can’t leave home without?

Wallet, water, and weed. (:

You could have one superpower, what would it be?

Being able to fly would be really chill.

What’s your favorite trick to do?

Front 3 indy, or front 5 off the toes.

Where’s your favorite place to travel?

Anywhere in Europe or the John Day River in Oregon!

What’s your favorite BlackStrap product?

The Summit Base Layer hoodies are my favorite! They keep me warm on those cold, windy days snowmobiling. Also love wearing the hood under my beanie and goggles while riding!

What’s your favorite thing about riding for BlackStrap?

I love that Blackstrap is based out of Bend, and I can support a local company! Also love that my boy Mason Lemery is on the squad, and we can rip together!
